Review:
The best book I have read so far this year!
This is my first time reading Pam Godwin, but certainly will not be my last.  Beneath the Burn is a suspenseful, dark, erotic story of broken souls colliding into a page turning, heartbreaking, emotional journey into the world of a rock star and the love of his life.  The characters both Jay and Charlee, as well as supporting characters are so well developed. Jay is an up and coming Rock God who self medicates to survive childhood memories of abuse and neglect, while Charlee is in hiding from a sexual sadist that believes he owns her.  One night after a show Jay decides to get a tattoo to disguise is scars, Charlee is the tattoo artist that convinces him he should wear his scars with pride.  Jay returns to the tattoo parlor to have his tattoo finished only to find that Charlee is gone.  A chance meeting years later not only brings Charlee back into his life, but also gives him hope.  Hope in a future protecting Charlee from the man she is on the run from.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you guessing until the very beautiful end.
I easily gave this book 5 blinkie heart smilies!

With tough negotiations ahead, he's armed with his acquisition pitch, ready to launch the deal of a lifetime. There’s just one glitch. The last thing he expects is to fall for the hot business owner he's trying to sway.
Dylan Reeves, computer science engineer and founder of the very successful social media site, Secret, is faced with a life-altering decision. A devoted family man with three kids and a wife, Dylan has been living a secret for years. Fiercely loyal to his convictions, his boundaries blur after meeting the striking owner of the corporation interested in acquiring his company. For the first time in his life, reckless desire consumes him when the gorgeous computer mogul makes an offer he can't refuse.

Review:

"Damn, he swore being in Dylan's arms felt like home."

That's one of my favorite quotes....and there are so many great ones as per usual in any Kindle Alexander book!  The way this story starts will have you thinking either there is some serious cheating going on or the book is labeled incorrectly for genre.  Ha!  Neither is true!  The picture-perfect family act will only fool you for a short time.  However, each member of this unconventional family is really lovable!  Our two main characters meet when Tristan's company has won the bid to purchase a proprietary social media app from Dylan's company.  And what app is it?  Shhh!  It's Secret!  Of course!

When Tristan and Dylan meet to discuss the details of their business merger, sparks fly immediately albeit in the closet for Dylan.  And although Tristan was wild and free and very publicly out, he was adorable and not an egotistical playboy.  He was the perfect foil for closeted and protective Dylan who put everyone ahead of himself.  Yes, their connection was instant lust...yet both felt a deeper bond very quickly.  Turns out these two have so much more in common that you'd have thought....they truly complete each other.  The ups and downs of coming together (Ha! I do mean that in both the emotional and naughty sense of the word) are intriguing and sweet.  I was happy that Kindle avoided the typical angst but yet kept the story interesting.  That social media app that brought the two companies together is pretty cool......maybe Dylan and Tristan will get that up and running for us asap.  ;)

The ending is sweet...and funny....and as usual I remember why Kindle Alexander is an auto-buy for me!  If you enjoy sweet romance, typical family drama and hot guys....trust me...you'll enjoy this book!

Tall, Dark and Lonely: The Pyte/Sentinel Series #1
Author: R.L. Mathewson
Rating: 4 Stars

Things are finally looking up for Madison. After years of scraping just to get by she lands her dream job and finally has a decent down payment for a house so she can move her brother and sister into a real home. It's too bad nothing ever goes the way it's supposed to. When the mother that abandoned them years ago suddenly shows up and moves them to New Hampshire Madison has no choice but to go or lose her brother and sister. Shoving her dreams aside yet again, Madison tries to make things work, it's really cold, her fifteen year old sister acts like a hooker in training, men act funny around her, her boss is a real jerk, she feels like an outsider, her best friend turns out to be a sixteen year old punk, and the incredibly handsome guy renting the room adjoining hers not only hogs the bathroom, taking three showers a day and leaving her with cold water, but he also has a secret. A secret that she becomes a bit obsessed with and can't let go no matter how many times she's warned off.

Detective Ephraim Williams learned long ago not to show any emotion or allow himself to get attached to humans. What was the point? They came and went and he remained. This time wouldn't be any different or so he thought. When his landlady told him her grandchildren were moving in he didn't expect much, well other than to be left alone. What he didn't expect was to have to fight bloodlust every time he so much as caught a whiff of his delectable neighbor's scent or her bombarding him with questions every time she cornered him. If that's not bad enough a Master from his past has found him once again and is demanding his blood and is willing to do anything to get it, even using the exasperating neighbor that makes him feel more than pain for the first time in centuries.

Amber's Review:

This was not your traditional Paranormal Romance, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it! The focus of the story is the endearing budding romance between Madison and Ephraim, which kept me turning page after page. The Vampire/Paranormal portion of the story is low on the intensity scale.

Madison, is the responsible sister who grows up too soon because she has to raise her siblings when her loser Mother walks out on them yet again. When her Mom returns she is forced to move across the country to live with a Grandmother she doesn't know in order to protect her siblings. This is where she meets the mysterious and handsome, Ephraim.

The chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. As their romance blossoms so does the drama that he thought he left behind. Enter the bad vampires and good sentinels who seem to show up a bit late each time. As they fall in love you get to fall in love with Madison's siblings, Grandmother and the "stray" kid, Chris, she gets to know while she is teaching at his school. I have to say he is probably my favorite character in the whole book and I can't wait to see what is in store for him in the next book!

The action scenes were not very intense and slightly predictable. If you are a diehard PNR fan who likes heavy paranormal, this might not be the book for you. If you love a good romance with hot erotic scenes and a little bloodlust then this is definitely the book for you!
